Frequently Asked Questions
I offer makeup for events, bridal, photoshoots, and special occasions, as well as add-ons like lashes and touch-up kits. You can view the full service menu here.
Event makeup takes about 45–60 minutes. Bridal makeup or more detailed looks can take 75–90 minutes, depending on the style and details required.
Yes, I'm totally mobile and travel for appointments. Travel fees may apply depending on the location, I charge for travel outside of the Richmond/Nelson area at the standard IRD rate per kilometer.
I don’t offer free trials, as each trial requires my time, expertise, and high-quality products to create a full bridal look.
Bridal trials are highly recommended and can be booked separately or included as part of a bridal package. They're a great way to discuss your vision, try out looks, and ensure everything’s perfect and runs smoothly for your big day.
Consider tying your bridal makeup trial in with another event such as a hen's night or pre-wedding dinner. This will allow you to test out how everything feels and wears before the big day, and you get to look glam for the occasion too!
I take great pride in my kit and have selected products I believe will give you the best end result.
I ensure your skin is properly prepared prior to makeup application so that your look will last throughout your event and remain looking fresh for as long as possible. I will choose products depending on preference/skin type and the look you are wanting to achieve.
My kit contains a range of products from high-end and professional brands such as Estée Lauder, Dior, MAC, Hourglass, Rare Beauty, Morphe, Ben Nye, RCMA, Bioderma, Embryolisse, and others to suit different skin types and tones.
I also carry some items from drugstore brands such as Maybelline, L'Oreal, and The Ordinary. These brands have some fantastic products available that rival or even perform better than products from high-end brands.
If you have any skin sensitivities or allergies please let me know in advance.
Short answer: Yes! Especially if you have specific skin sensitivities or allergies. I can work your products in to the overall look.
That being said, I cannot guarantee the end result will be the same as it would be if I used products I am familiar working with. I select products for my kit based on reliability and performance, this means I can be confident the makeup I am applying for you will provide the best possible result.
Makeup applications with your own products are unfortunately not eligible for a reduced service fee. The application still requires my skill, time, disposable products, and time/products for sanitising afterwards.
Weddings are such special events and I don’t just ‘do your makeup’.
Makeup artists set the tone for your entire morning/day/night. We help you breathe. We fix dress straps. We blend your tears. We keep you looking camera-ready long after the vows.
Today’s bridal beauty is built for humidity, tears, and 12-hour days. Rates for wedding and bridal makeup reflect the skill, training, prep, and products required to make that happen. Your wedding is most likely going to be the most photographed day of your life, so it pays to invest in a professional to make sure you achieve a timeless bridal look you can enjoy in your precious memories.
